No — but it is unusually close. The Torrance PD jail on Civic Center Drive is a short walk from the courthouse on Maple Avenue. That proximity is convenient, but bail is still posted at the jail, never at the courthouse counter.

Torrance runs the largest police department in the South Bay and its own city jail, so a Torrance arrest usually stays in city custody at first. If bail is not posted, men transfer to the Inmate Reception Center and Twin Towers downtown and women to Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood.

Usually it is already set at booking under the county bail schedule and can be posted immediately. At arraignment the judge reviews it and may keep, raise, or reduce it, or grant own-recognizance release, under the bail hearing rules cited above.
