Courthouse Overview
The San Diego Juvenile Court is at 2851 Meadow Lark Drive, in the Kearny Mesa area near the county's juvenile facilities. It is a specialty court, and it works differently from the six adult courthouses in this county in ways that matter before you spend money.
This building hears juvenile delinquency — the criminal side for minors — along with dependency (child welfare and protective custody), adoptions, emancipations, and court permissions for marriage or domestic partnership. Satellite dependency and adoptions business offices operate at the Vista and El Cajon courthouses, but the countywide juvenile court itself is here.
The critical thing for a family: minors in delinquency proceedings are not released on a bail bond. There is no bail schedule for a minor. A minor is detained or released to a parent or guardian by court order after a detention hearing, based on the court's assessment — not on money. Anyone who offers to sell you a bail bond to get a child out of juvenile hall is describing something that does not exist.
Juvenile proceedings are also confidential. The hearings are not open in the way an adult criminal calendar is, records are restricted, and who may attend is limited. What a family actually needs here is counsel and the detention hearing date — which is why our role on a juvenile call is to say that plainly and, when the matter is genuinely a juvenile one, not take your money.

Court hours and jail release timing are separate systems. San Diego Superior Court keeps weekday hours; the facility holding a defendant accepts a bail bond at any hour, including nights, weekends, and court holidays.
San Diego Superior Court business offices answer phones from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. Our San Diego office line, (619) 560-0106, is answered 24 hours a day.
Release timing follows the facility, not the courthouse. A municipal jail release can move in a couple of hours; a county facility commonly runs longer, and longer still overnight and on weekends.

Juvenile Delinquency

How To Post Bail At Juvenile Court
Bail review and reduction motions in California run under Penal Code §1270.1, and the starting figure comes from the San Diego County Superior Court felony and misdemeanor bail schedule.
There is no bail to post on a juvenile delinquency matter. A minor is detained or released to a parent or guardian by court order following a detention hearing, and the decision turns on the court's assessment of the child and the circumstances rather than on a dollar amount. No bail bond, from us or anyone else, changes that.
The one place bail re-enters the picture is when a minor is charged as an adult and housed accordingly. That is a specific legal determination, not an assumption to make from the age on a booking sheet. If that is what happened, the case is on an adult calendar at the Central Courthouse or a regional center and a bond may apply — and we will tell you that after confirming it, not before.
What a family can usefully do tonight: get the detention hearing date, get counsel, and understand that the proceedings are confidential. We answer these calls around the clock and give that information free. If it is a juvenile matter, we say so and we do not sell you a bond.
Every bond we write is issued by a California Department of Insurance licensed bail agent under Cal. Ins. Code §1800, at the statutory 10% premium.
